Professor William Dougan - Director
Professor William Dougan has over 15 years of experience in teaching, training, consulting, advising and public service in venture development, management of technology and an entrepreneur. Dougan has also been involved in international teaching and research for over 15 years as an invited faculty member at universities in both France and China. He is published in the areas of decision theory, small firm technology strategy and entrepreneurial behavior. Dougan earned the prestigious Faculty Advisor of the Year award for the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO)and is one of the faculty advisors for the nationally acclaimed UW-Whitewater CEO chapter. Dougan is a co-founder and principal at Blackthorne. He earned his BBA and MS from the University of Kansas and PhD from Cornell University. Dougan is the "go to guy" for strategy, market analysis, business plan competitions, and he loves escaping to France.
Dave Gee - Director
Dave Gee has been the founder and CEO and serial entrepreneur. He led efforts to launch the companies and develop teams, and he orchestrated marketing and operations, secured $500k in funding and facilitated a partnership with Salesforce.com. Gee has over 25 years of Fortune 500 marketing and sales experience for recognized firms including BellSouth, Humana, Motorola, U.S. Cellular and TDS. He teaches entrepreneurship at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and digital marketing and sales management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a faculty advisor the nationally acclaimed UW-Whitewater Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization. Gee co-founded, Classmunity, a K-12 fundraising management and crowdfunding SaaS firm. He also was the CEO & Founder of Bungee Loyalty Programs and Co-Founder of College Startup Funding. He earned his BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and his MBA from Marquette University. Gee thrives on "diving into the trenches" with students and rapidly moving from ideation to startup success. He loves mountain biking, boating and cooking-up his latest batch of home brew.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, CHENG THAO - MENTOR, SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
Cheng Thao is Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His research interests are in software product line engineering and document engineering in particularly collaborative editing. He has authored or co-authored more than a dozen of conference, and workshop papers. He has expertise in software engineering practices, desktop and Web application development, and XML technologies. He is currently collaborating IDP, inc and Itect, inc. He likes spending time with friends, and family. He likes the outdoor and often goes mountain biking. In the winter, he skis. Last winter, he went to Colorado for a ski trip at Copper Mountain.
